He said the company’s supply chain, still recovering from post-pandemic disruptions, remains the primary constraint on reaching that target sooner.
Additional E2 jet orders are likely before the end of this year, as several negotiations are still in progress.
E1 jets, which are primarily used by U.S. carriers, are not expected to generate new orders in 2025.
Embraer Q1 2025 News: Net Revenue Is the Highest for the Period Since 2016
Embraer had a strong start to 2025. The company brought in $1.1 billion in revenue during the first quarter—its best Q1 since 2016. This marks a 23% increase compared to the same time last year. Defense and security played a big part, growing by 72% year over year.
The company’s adjusted EBIT came in at $62 million, with a 5.6% profit margin. That’s a solid jump from the 0.8% margin reported in Q1 2024.
Even though Embraer reported a negative free cash flow of $385.8 million (excluding Eve), this was expected. The company is gearing up to deliver more aircraft in the coming months.
Looking ahead, Embraer plans to deliver between 77 and 85 commercial jets and 145 to 155 executive jets in 2025. Full-year revenue is projected between $7.0 and $7.5 billion, with a targeted EBIT margin between 7.5% and 8.3%. It’s also aiming for at least $200 million in free cash flow by the end of the year. Importantly, Q1 results were not affected by U.S. tariffs.
To strengthen its finances, Embraer issued a 10-year, $650 million bond and used the proceeds to retire older debt. The company bought back $522 million in bonds due in 2027 and $150 million due in 2028. This move helped extend the average debt maturity from 3.8 to 6.3 years.
Embraer New Aircraft Development & Innovation
According to the latest Embraer news, the company plans to start working on its next aircraft models beginning in 2030. According to CEO Francisco Gomes Neto, the company will decide on future products around that time. Until then, the focus remains on improving and delivering the aircraft already in its lineup.
In an interview with Folha de São Paulo, Gomes Neto addressed the talk about a possible new jet that could compete with Boeing’s 737 or Airbus’s A320. He explained that Embraer isn’t planning a larger plane right now. Instead, the company regularly studies different options for future development.
He also made it clear that no final decision has been made yet. Product planning will begin around 2030, and until then, the company will keep pushing its current aircraft portfolio forward.
Sweden Plans to Buy Four C-390 Transport Planes From Embraer
On April 1, 2025, Sweden announced plans to buy four C-390 Millennium transport aircraft from Embraer. This deal is part of a joint agreement with the Netherlands and Austria, aimed at strengthening their shared military operations.
Sweden had already chosen the C-390 as its next cargo plane last year, but didn’t confirm how many it would buy until now.
At the same time, Brazil said it plans to order more Gripen fighter jets from Saab, the Swedish defense company. This step continues the growing defense partnership between the two countries.
New Delhi Subsidiary & Aerospace Collaboration In Morocco
Embraer is preparing to grow its presence in India by opening a new office in New Delhi. The company expects the new branch to begin operating by the second quarter of 2025. This move comes as India’s military sector continues to grow and shows strong interest in aircraft like the C-390 Millennium.
Bosco da Costa Junior, head of Embraer Defense & Security, said the Delhi office will support all parts of the business. This includes commercial and executive jets, defense programs, maintenance services, supply chain, and engineering. He also mentioned that they are close to finalizing agreements with local partners in the city.
Once open, the new office will help with engineering, parts and service support, and business development. It will also play a role in sourcing materials and working more closely with India’s growing defense market.
Furthermore, the latest Embraer news shares its plans to build the final assembly line for the C-390 Millennium in India.
Embraer News for the Future of Aviation and Aerospace
Embraer’s recent forecast suggests a shift toward more sustained, scalable output rather than short-term gains.
The company also appears to be aligning its operations, supplier relationships, and market strategy to support higher delivery volumes in the long run.
